Hermes did a thorough inspection. He found that the reason my AC wasn’t turning on was that my newly installed smart thermostat was in heating mode, not cooling! So once that was taken care of, he did a complete inspection of my system. He found that my AC was only functioning at 60% and that the furnace box has cracks. This was NOT an attempt to up-sell me - the system is 35 years old! It’s already gone more than twice it’s life expectancy! But now that it’s running, plus I’m having solar installed next Wednesday, I’m going to hold off on replacing my system for several months so that I can save up for that eventual replacement.
