Wylie did very good work. Clearly knows his stuff. My question isn't about what he did but a more basic one. When my furnace was but in, it blocked the removal of the water heater with both the venting and the electrical box. Wylie had to remove both. I see no way around the venting, but why wasn't the electrical box installed initially or later moved to a location in front of the furnace instead of beside where I am going to have to pay you again move for most of $1000 in 12 years when the heater I just put in has to be replaced. This $800 I just paid you accomplished nothing at all for me as a customer except paving the way for the water heater installation. (Yes, the venting would still have had to be done, but I gather that requires a plumber only and is much easier to schedule and would have both gotten my service done faster and probably saved me several hundred dollars (and again in 12 years). Again this is not a reflection on Wyie's work but a more basic one on the installation itself. (And perhaps you might want to work with the furnace manufacturer to see if it cold be made so that moving the electrical box is easy for just this reason.)
